There are indeed some differences in birthing between China and the West; anyone (and their spouses) going into this adventure should get informed!

For example, Chinese hospitals seem much stingier with the pain meds, even in cases of C-sections. Also, there's less post-birth recovery time for mothers and fathers...the hospitals seem to hand the baby off to the parents much more quickly after birth... aoaoaoaoao
