good day to curl up in my big comfy armchair at the back of the Saloon near the fireplace. We have a fireplace?? Wow, this new place has class.
Tried to stop global warming today by making more ice, and putting it into drinks. I succeeded, but suspect it was a local effect.
I forget what a blue sky looks like.Just to remind you.......
Not when you're coming out of -38 winters it's not! It's wonderful.Yep, it's all in the eye of the beholder...you lot down south don't know the meaning of cold!
dripping sweat is really unpleasant and definitely not lady-like.
Wanna bet ahahahahah You'll get sweaty cuz you'll forget and cheexyblonde
We actually hit 26o at midday today. Very nice indeed.
Men (real men Stil) perspire.
Ladies glisten
Horses sweat.
We've got a PREFECT day today! Nice and warm, wonderful breeze, not a cloud in the sky.
Wow, I can see the sun. 24 hours without rain. Putting the boat building tools away, but keeping them handy.
Done Bel. I'll box it up now and send it this afternoon. bfbfbfbfbf
the guys are already rolling up their teeshirts and rubbing their tummies and the gals are fanning themselves with their hands - might be a bit warm out.

Eric, I hope you survived the weekend.
Here in Germany, it is again typical wheather. The whole weekend was raining. And this morning, sun is coming out. Well, who needs sunshine at the weekend bibibibibi
Where the heck is the chilly days of Autumn?
GIVE ME THE SNOW! probably won't happen... so at least give me the cold!
wide open, just not a great heater.
Time for long pants.
...which no longer fit. The forecast calls for clothes shopping.
BDA at 6am......75*F (=24C) with 75% humidity. Comfortable.
Dark, cold, wet and windy all day but the heat came on today :) so it was almost comfortable indoors. Not all my rads are on yet, not sure if there's a problem with my units or whether the central system is operating at a lower capacity.
Since I'm going home next year didn't think it was worth it to buy one. I am treating myself to an oven next week, figure I'll get quite a bit of use out of it to justify buying one.
I have no idea. I haven't heard of the movie, and I don't know the name of the area, just where it is. Sorry.

AMonk, it's November and I am in Denmark!!! Rest assured that winter is here. The whole snow and wind thing is not making my daily run enjoyable!
Maximum temp in Xi'an today was 4 (39 for USAnians), min -5 at 9:00am. However, the weather forecast does say chance of snow tomorrow night. I live in hope!!
I'm trying not to break down and put the air con on.Get it ready. I'm on my way down there, and I expect warmth!!! agagagagag
Can get by with a light jacket in the early mornings and t-shirts by mid-day.
Here in Baoji....have no idea of the temp! But since yesterday the sky's been yuck and I think it's threatening to snow. We had the tiniest smidgin of snow about a month ago, and that was it. That's fine by me ababababab
Can anyone tell me the weather in Shanghai at the moment? Am leaving tomorrow by train, arrive Sunday morning, not sure if I will need my Michelin jacket or bikini afafafafaf
Don't know if I want to leave now! Its chilly!NOTHING!
Snow, ice and winds...what more could a girl ask for!

Imagine walking around in that, wearing contact lenses. aoaoaoaoaoImagine having that on August 8th, 2008 ahahahahah
It's been a beautiful summer in Beijing. Low to mid thirties almost every day and only a few major rain storms. Blue skies most every day thanks to restrictions imposed by the Olympics.
But a few days ago the temperature seemed to drop by about ten degrees. It does seem to be getting dark just a littleearlier. I chose pants over shirts for the first time in months and the girls are putting away their mini-skirts for another year. The campus is once again a bustle of student activity.
Summer is over. ananananan
People in Beijing dress according to the weather? Wow, 好奇怪. Here we do it the proper way - according to the date.
i actually got a little blanket out yesterday and my cat has a coldAwwww. A widdle blankie for the puddy tat, too?

Meanwhile, Oklahoma is already settling into what can only be called the "Oh, F##k" season. We've had several consecutive days of highs over 100F (38C), with many more to come. But it's OK, because it's also terribly humid to match. llllllllll
After about 15 seconds outside, you're making your own gravy in prodigious quantities. Always nice for job-hunting and interviewing. bfbfbfbfbf bibibibibi
However, the dust storms have become MUCH worse in recent years, in the wake of some really bone-headed agricultural projects and policies that took place back in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. Desertification has claimed vast areas of land, and the Mongolian deserts are growing at a staggering rate.
I hear a rumor that surf's up for the next few days for those of us near HK. Any idea where I can find some weather maps with storm path predictions, etc.?http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/
It's getting cooler.
That means winter is coming. aoaoaoaoao
Maximum Temperature -6C (but -7 / -8 most of the day). Windchill at the moment - 16C.
... and actually had to *think* about stripping to get into the shower!
It's quite nipply out there.Knowing you, this isn't a typo afafafafaf
That horrible white stuff invaded Jinan overnight, and continued all day. May be more tonight. Kids enjoyed it, but!
Stil, is that -1 in your apartment?
Cool clear and sunny in Florida. Just tiny bit little too cold for sitting outside working on a tan.
Toasty warm and a little cloudy in Florida. Had to turn the AC back on.
Current temperature here is -19C with light snow falling as it has been most of the afternoon. I think it got all the way up to a maximum temperature of -18C. It is not as cold as it was same time yesterday, I think because the clouds usually keep things warmer. Though I wonder if it is possible to describe -18C as "warmer". I like the fact that as soon as the snow we are walking on on campus gets a little bit too icy and becomes slippery the weather is doing the right thing and giving us enough snow to make it easier and safer again. I am learning to live with snow that doesn't go away after a day or two.I walked for half an hour trying to get a taxi in this today. Ended up going to a bus stop where I knew the # 2 bus would stop. Oh well. TIFH and I love it here.
When it rains but the sun is shining it's called a monkey's wedding right?
What about when the sun is shining but it's freakin freezing?
Man I'd give anything for a tauntaun. Riding my bicycle to work is freakin brutal these days.Thank you for that, it really made me laugh.
It is -4C in my cooking kitchen.
Chinese driver!! uuuuuuuuuu
Come over and let's see how YOU do on Oklahoma black ice, koala-breath!Ha! Been there, done that. I have driven from Detroit, down the coast to Fla, across to New Orleans, then back up the middle to Detroit. In Winter!! Nary a scratch on the car!!
Yeah, Gerge, but I was driving SOBER.Oh, well! That explains everything! kkkkkkkkkk
My horrible pickup truck, The Behemoth, is a death trap on icy roads. On our White Christmas I took out a highway sign on the trip to Mom's, and had to be pushed/bumped/towed about 5 times on the way back.

It is a good site but does not have data for Baoji. I can access Xi'an data but, judging from some of your updates, the weather here is not always the same.
PS The long range forecast for Shaanxi looks good enough for non long-john days for some time - ababababab
Amazing, innit, how 2 people can experience the same thing so differently. DS has been down south and now finds Dalian a bit cold. I was up in Changchun for the holiday(hiya, DD!) and since coming back I don't think I've done up my jacket. We're both from the same hometown, so go figure.
Spring is sprunging!
Spring has sprung
QuoteSpring is sprunging!
I am most probably misquoting some lines I read a long (very) time ago:
Spring is sprung
de boids is on de rise
Changchun = Long Spring
LIARS!!! Its a misnomer, it should be long f#cking winter. Its bloody snowing again.
Overnight we have had our heaviest snowfall of this "snow" season. I say snow season because the middle of April is not really still winter, and we had almost a week of weather which felt and looked more like spring, and all the snow had melted, and now though not any where near as cold it looks like winter - actually it looks like more snow on the ground than we had at any point in winter. I had to wait this morning for them to dig a path to get out of our building and down a few steps. It redefines changeable weather.I've been here in Harbin for over 3 years and this was the heaviest single snow fall I have ever seen. I love it. akakakakak akakakakak akakakakak
According to a couple of Chinese English teachers at my University who have lived here all their lives I spoke to yesterday it is around 27 years since Harbin had a snow fall like this one. None of my students I taught yesterday that grew up here can remember anything like it so that would make it more than 20 years.Overnight we have had our heaviest snowfall of this "snow" season. You're in the wrong part of the county, EL. Spring is over. The weather here between May holiday and October holiday can be pretty much classified as 'too stinking hot to bear leaving the room with AC".
it sucks here too, it's still grey and rainy
my life has been grey, cold and rainy for the last 6 months :(
I've got connections at the People's Weather Bureau. Springtime conditions have been restored for a few more days.I'm glad you've got connections. Today was just about perfect. The ferocious storm yesterday took away all the humidity and made the skies blue. How much do I have to pay your guys at the weather bureau to keep this kind of weather for awhile?
You guys know better than that. It has nothing to do with the weather but the time of year.
I expect my students to return from holiday having traded their summer clothes for winter ones. They will wear their winter clothes now and complain about how hot the weather is.
Changsha weather has been awesome recently. The beginning of the holiday had some rain but these last few days have been 25C and sunny with a light breeze, cooler in the evening .... perfect
If you are new to the area (Tai_Li) best to get out and enjoy it because it doesn't happen often. It doesn't even happen every year.
IIf i spend a lot of time at my desktop computer my mouse hand will start going numb with cold.
the problem is that there is no place to get warm
....Sorry I don't have any tips for keeping warm when the power is off....
is there not one redeemable thing that winter brings?
So, okay, is there not one redeemable thing that winter brings?
My plan is to have a mini-freakout, and over inflate it in my mind. So, eventually I'm seeing a post-apocalyptic city scape, littered with the frozen remains of mastadons and sabre tooth tigers. A hellish, barren place where people are reduced to hunting in packs, and wearing woolly mammoth furs for protection from the harsh winds, with frozen icicles hanging from the ends of their noses. Kind of like 'The Day After Tomorrow." So, in the end, I can say, well, it's really, really bad, but at least society hasn't collapsed.
When in doubt, do both.
enjoying this wonderful weather
....All I know is that cold would not be a word I would use....
Snowmaggedon has hit the northeastern US. Yeah, it's blown out of proportion, but it's still fun to say. It was only about 18" but the snowdrifts are pretty big. The wind was amazing--howling all night. The news had wind speeds up to 50mph. And now it's about 22F to go along with those strong winds.
-22° soundsbalmybarmy aoaoaoaoao
Terrible flooding here in Queensland and now into New South Wales, Australia......When I moved here, I got maps of all the areas that have ever flooded and then I bought my home in a safe place. I remember what happened here in the 1974 floods.
Looks nice though and the people here suck at snowball fighting. It seems that Hunan girls don't know how to duck. uuuuuuuuuu
And after a couple of girls get knocked unconscious that way, I'm sure they wake up and are very grateful to be in Stil's nice, warm apartment. Of course, their clothes were wet, so he did the proper thing - stripped them naked and tucked them into his bed.The very definition of a perfect Gentleman.
tucked them into his bed.
Will someone please send me a flamethrower so I can clear the sidewalks.bababababa
Ruth, yes it is. And this cyclone is as big as Hurricane Katrina aoaoaoaoao aoaoaoaoao aoaoaoaoao!
Unfortunately it is actually a bit bigger than Katrina was.
This article gives some idea of just how big in size (much less strength) the storm is. I found this staggering.

Apparently the power grid there can't handle everyone running their heat at the same time so there have been rolling blackouts throughout the city.
Meanwhile, the deep freeze goes on in Oklahoma, with significant fresh snow today and more coming Sunday. The fun is wearing out. I haven't been out in about a week, and most of Tulsa remains shut down anyway. llllllllll
Gerge, glad you're down on the safe side. Well, mostly glad, anyway.I'm reasonably glad you are mostly glad. Build a snowman. agagagagag
Ah, Spring in Oklahoma..
I don't belive a word of it. I will be back on the Sunny Coast in a couple of weeks and I bet it won't even be cold!

I think that the word is out that becster79 is coming home. I don't think they want her bringing any "hot stuff" (blokes) with her, so the weather has warmed up a bit and I haven't used my heater for a few days. The ladies are out shopping in clothes which could allow frost bite in some uncomfortable places. The guys are also wearing T-shirts and exposing the cracks of their bottoms. I reckon they are all nuts, because I'm still wearing a couple of layers of warm clothes. bfbfbfbfbf ahahahahah
Shame on you, go and have a better look afafafafaf
Ahh it's cold and rainy in Sydney...but I do have a block of cheese in the fridge... dddddddddd
As my old mum used to say "You won't feel the benefit"
Another cold weather emergency declared in Sunny Dongguan as temperatures again slipped below 20 degrees.

My feet are slightly cold. Maybe I'll put on a pair of socks.
I think it's been raining in HZ for the past 6 weeks solidly, it's worse than I remember England or anywhere I've been. What it reminds me of is the city in the movie '7even'

Mere days after floods submerged Beijing, another storm is on the way - and it may be even worse than its predecessor.
At 11am on July 24, The Beijing Meteorological Bureau issued a Level 4 storm warning. By contrast, Saturday's storm was a Level 2. To make matters worse, the ground is already saturated with water, meaning that flood waters will rise faster.
The storm is set to hit Beijing at approximately 8pm today, so get somewhere safe as soon as possible and stay there. A good night to work your way through that stockpile of pirated DVDs? Yes, it is.
Dear residents,
According to China Meteorological Administration forecast, Typhoon Haikui will affect Zhejiang, Shanghai and Jiangsu provinces this evening and tomorrow.
According to our Travel Advice, travellers should avoid visiting isolated or rural areas if a typhoon system is forecast or affecting the area. If you encounter a storm, pay close attention to the instructions of local authorities. Local infrastructure may be affected and there may be widespread flooding, including in urban areas. Take precautions including; avoiding unnecessary journeys, staying in touch with family and friends who may be concerned and ensuring you have a supply of clean drinking water. Flooding can increase the threat of water-borne disease; do not wade through flood-water with any undressed cuts or abrasions on your feet and legs. Continue to monitor weather reports.
The Japan Meteorological Agency( http://www.jma.go.jp/en/typh/) and the China Meteorological Administration (http://www.cma.gov.cn/en/) provides information and forecasts (in English) about approaching storms in the region.

It is just raining in HZ. Typhoon-smyphoon ...It is just a wee bit of rain...I love China but they are seriously wussies when it comes to bad weather.
I might try and persuade my girlfriend to move to Japan....

Sorry EL, we've had a few blizzards here in Guangzhou, to welcome you back!
oooooooooo
We had the first snow sprinkling of the year. The g/f told me it was snowing. I told her that if each and every flake was poison, she still wouldn't die. I've brushed off more dandruff
Ice pellets.
"Pellets" is not a weather word.
So what do I wear when I leave Israel on Thursday (18C) go thru Amsterdam 8 hour layover (5C0 and arrive in Xiamen (10C)?? Help!
A lovely day in Zhejiang - I went out with my language partner and we found a small arboretum with cherry blossoms and spent the afternoon lolling about in the sunshine. I had some 二锅头 again today and it tasted much better than I had previously. Wondering if the batches are inconsistent or if I had knock-off bottom shelf liquor the first time.
In Brisbane 36 degrees today and overcast.asasasasas
Hot. Overcast. So freaking humid you sweat sitting still. Whatever's going on down south, it's playing silly buggers with the weather here.
We just had a severe thunderstorm / tornado warning.
Still with the pigeons. Is there no environment they can't ruin?
