If it gets any colder here, I may have to put on a shirt when feeding the animals and walking down to the mailbox.

Woke up to -36 C with a wind chill of -45 C.  Don't you just love winter?

Only -1 with -5 windchill here.  Freezing fog.  Possibility of snow on Saturday.  Yesterday was  another pea-souper - eerie and fascinating.

Winter has finally arrived in New Jersey. The thermometer at the DMV inspection station said it was 20F (I guess hell really does freeze). My wife is from Xinjiang and thinks it's too cold here. 

Quite sunny today in Shanghai. But feels quite cold.
Anyway, a good start into three weeks vacation 

You asked but you don't really want to know.  Temps about -36 with a wind chill of -50 C.  Yep, for two days now .... brrrrrr!

It started to drizzle and I was feeling a bit  about the weather.

Then, the temperature muct have dropped that tiny amount and the drizzle became snow. I hope it continues!

It was 11 celcius in my apartment this morning.  Cold front moved in yesterday and the students are complaining about the cold.  I'll let them know what it's like in Saskatchewan.

The dodgy weather forecast tells me that Xi'an will be having a whirlwind for the next few days.  Oz - here I come.

It is a nippy 2, with a wind chill of -3.  But today was beautiful - blue skies, crisp air. Sitting on my enclosed veranda in the sun reading and eating TimTams was very nice. 

Current temperature here is -19C with light snow falling as it has been most of the afternoon. I think it got all the way up to a maximum temperature of -18C. It is not as cold as it was same time yesterday, I think because the clouds usually keep things warmer. Though I wonder if it is possible to describe -18C as "warmer".  I like the fact that as soon as the snow we are walking on on campus gets a little bit too icy and becomes slippery the weather is doing the right thing and giving us enough snow to make it easier and safer again.  I am learning to live with snow that doesn't go away after a day or two.

I walked for half an hour trying to get a taxi in this today. Ended up going to a bus stop where I knew the # 2 bus would stop. Oh well. TIFH and I love it here.
